Live Gig: Discovery 2 and Zimbalam Showcase
Discovery 2 teamed up with Zimbalam Music Distribution in November to showcase some of Zimbalam’s hottest acts. They included The Mouth of Ghosts who fuse alt rock and trip hop, Leaving Atlantis who are a progressive electro-acoustic pop, Miccoli echoes the classic melodic sounds of the 70’s with a contemporary feel and Jennifer Left returns to the AAA bringing her blend of irrepressibly optimistic pop. It was a great night.
While we did get interviews from each of the artists which you can hear in this podcast, we are only able to present one of the live sets – Jennifer Left. The live sets from The Mouth of Ghosts and Leaving Atlantis were not broadcastable and we apologise for the technical issues.

The Artists
The Mouth of Ghosts
Fusing alternative rock and trip-hop, The Mouth Of Ghosts are a band from London who make moody, textured music, fuelled by ragged guitars and distant electronics.
“Effortless, ethereal, and frankly gorgeous title track. Seydalieva’s soaring, sensuous vocals are underpinned by an irresistible groove and Italia’s bass playing is simply the best I’ve heard all year.” -Tom Robinson: Fresh On The Net Blog
Leaving Atlantis
Dividing their time between London & Copenhagen, Danish singer/lyricist, Signe Gry Thorup and Finnish drummer/producer Vesa Haapanen have created a sound of progressive electro-acoustic pop. Their music has grown from strength to strength aided by the support of BBC Introducing and being shortlisted for Glastonbury Festivals.
“An ethereal yet soulful voice, and it helps to create very deep and atmospheric songs” -Tight Music Blog
Jennifer Left
Her undeniable talents lie in balladry so breathtakingly instinctive, yet perfectly balanced with infectious upbeat instrumentation and menacing bittersweet tones.
“Drawing equally on Peggy Sue and Feist, this irrepressibly optimistic pop music fits aptly into a niche of its own carving.” -Single of the Week the 405
