Free Music Feature
Welcome to the Justin Wayne Show’s Free Music Feature blog, written by our own Claire Rozario! She features one new free track each week on the blog that’s hot, sweet and ready for your ears.
If you are currently offering a free song and would like Claire to consider it for her blog, contact her via email: claire (at) thejustinwayneshow (dot) com. Please include:
- A short description of your track and you (band, artist, or dog-and-pony show)
- A link to the site where it’s streamable, embeddable and downloadable – Bandcamp or Soundcloud are good options.
- Reason WHY she should include it.
If you’re a reader – that’s ACE and welcome. Let me know if you find anything that should be on this blog too!
My Woman (I Love Nothing About You) by The Manic Shine – Free Music Feature MP3
This weeks free feature is a track with a great title – ‘My Woman (I Love Nothing About You)’ brought to us by The Manic Shine. We have been following this band since we first heard of them over here at The Justin Wayne Show so we are excited to see it’s now only a short wait until their new album will be streaming our airwaves! In the run up to this we hope that this great track manages to tide you over.
The Manic Shine are a rock band unlike any you will ever have heard. With a vast sound that links progressive alt/rock with atmospheric synth noise, The Manic Shine are fast becoming a force to be reckoned with in todays progressive modern music. They combine time signature changes, soaring guitars and heart-pounding groove to deliver an inebriating wall of metamorphic art rock.
The new album ‘Let Go Or Be Dragged’ out 27.01.2014.

Hip With The Kids by Alex Highton – Free Music Feature MP3
It’s 2014 and although many things are changing our weekly free music feature certainly isn’t. We are kicking off the year with this lovely little number ‘Hip With The Kids’ by Alex Highton. This track is taken from his debut album and if you like what you hear then you are in luck, he is current funding his 2nd release through Pledge Music.
After growing up in Liverpool, and then ten years or so in London, Alex decamped with his family to rural Cambridgeshire. What he found was an England he didn’t know existed and a life he didn’t know he was looking for. With no expectations at all he wrote and recorded a bunch of songs that chronicled his journey from the city to the country. Just stuff about what was going on around him, his wife, his kids, breathing in the fresh air and staring into the abyss.
His album ‘Woodditton Wives Club’ is available to buy now.
Song for Winter Solstice by Jordan Reyne – Free Music Feature MP3
This weeks free music feature could not be more appropriate if it tried! Tomorrow, the 21th of December is in fact the date of winter solstice 2013 which is the day Jordan Reyne intended you would listen to this haunting track, fittingly titled ‘Song for Winter Solstice‘. This is time of year at which the sun appears at noon at it’s lowest altitude above the horizon. So grab this track for free now and keep your eyes peeled.
Jordan’s music is a blend of alternative folk music described by New Zealand’s National Radio and many others as an entirely new sound. Amidst tales or salt, steam and iron, Jordan blends celtic folk melodies with dark facts and folkore and the sounds of the industrial revolution. Bloodthirsty celtic rock, with steam-era machine noise, and Grimms fairytale-esque lyrics.
Knees Up Christmas by Stone Pony – Free Music Feature MP3
It’s almost Christmas, so let’s get into the spirit with this weeks free feature: ‘Knees Up Christmas’ by Stone Pony. It’s a cheery, funny track about the reality of a typical English Christmas. Grab it now, and if you like what you hear then you are in luck, it’s currently running in our Top 10 of 2013.
Formed in the hazy summer of 2004 out of a bustling University of Kent music scene, the rock’n’roll five piece Stone Pony quickly established themselves as crowd favourites to the students and locals around the Canterbury area. Equally at ease bringing the crowd to its feet with stirring guitar driven rock numbers, as tugging at the heartstrings with piano led ballads, ‘Stone Pony’ built up an avid following in their final year of University.
When the student days came to an end, the band moved back to South East London, where they released their first two EPs, ‘The Sam Sessions’ and ‘Chasing Thieves’.

Half The Universe by Amphibic – Free Music Feature MP3
A beautiful track in honour of a tragic day. This weeks free feature ‘Half The Universe’ by Amphibic is the artists reaction to the trauma of 22.07.11.
Neal Hoffmann is a London based singer/songwriter who, after touring in Norway with Ephemera in 2003, fell in love with the country and its people. He has since been back several times and thinks of himself as “an insider on the outside.”
He managed to teach himself Norwegian by reading Norwegian books and articles on NRK.
When the events of July 22nd 2011 unfolded, he was following the developments online and, like thousands of others, could not believe what was happening in Norway.
He wanted to talk about the event but not about the perpetrator. He imagines, that if you lose someone close, a part of your world disappears. The pain cannot be put into words. It cannot be explained. An artist, however, can try to approach it with his/her own view and understanding and see what will happen. What happened in Neal’s case, was a song called, ‘Half the Universe (is missing)’.
Take a Walk by Jess McAllister – Free Music Feature MP3
This weeks free feature is a beautiful track called ‘Take a Walk’ from Jess McAllister’s EP ‘Painted Faces’. This was just released in October and receiving a copy has made my week! The EP in it’s entirety is available for free download, however for just £5 you’ll get a physically copy featuring some lovely artwork.
The music of Jess McAllister is wholesome, passionate and free-spirited. Developed naturally from the touchstones of modern folk, her songwriting has grown into an enchanting blend of sound, informed in equal measure by the spontaneity of live performance and an imaginative outlook on life.
