5.5 Questions with Madi Davis
Hailing from McKinney, Texas, 15 year old Madi Davis released her first E.P., madi anne davis, in August. Her voice and music indicate she has a bright musical future in front of her.
Conducted in the JWS chatroom with four additional performers, this 5.5 tells us a little more about Madi (and her favorite dessert).
When you’re onstage, what’s different about you from the every day you?
When I’m onstage I’m definitely not as quick to form complete sentences.
Tell us about the first time you heard yourself on radio.
The first time I heard myself on the radio it was through this competition that I did with KISS FM last may, and that was absolutely crazy! And, if I remember correctly, I hyperventilated.
What’s been your most memorable performance ever?
When I played Klyde Warren Park in Dallas, definitely. It was a huge crowd and the stage was gorgeous and I had the best view during my set, it was unforgettable.
You’re listening to a song you love. How many more listens does it take before you hate the song?
Depends on the song. There are songs that I have been listening to since I was 13 that I can still listen to now, but most songs take me about 20-25 listens before I want to rip my ears off.
What’s your favorite kind of cookie/biscuit?
I don’t really know if Mochi Ice Cream counts, but that’s my go-to dessert.
Tell us three songs on your music player’s list.
Stay – Lewis Watson
Fall Asleep – Jars Of Clay
Feel No More – Bwani Junction
