5.5 Things You Don’t Know About Triton Taylor

Aug 20, 2015 by

Soul singer Triton Taylor appeared on episode 298 with his tune, Like This. Never one to let an opportunity get by, I sent Triton 5.5 questions. Here’s what he had to say:

What’s the first song you ever remember hearing?

Eric Clapton’s “Cocaine” is the first song I remember hearing. My dad would play Clapton and jam along on guitar.

Tell us about the first time you heard yourself on radio.

The first time I heard myself on the radio wasn’t really a big thing for me. I heard my music at a bar in Brighton near where I live though. And that tripped me out.

What non-instrument sound or sounds do you love?

I’m a huge fan of artists like Daley who use non-instrument sounds in their music. Specifically percussion sounds. I’m in the process of recording my 2nd EP. Right now we are using drum samples so it really gives us the power to use real and fake drums sounds to create a mood.

What is something you still want to learn in life?

I feel progress is so important. I want to learn more about myself and my craft and get better every day.

What’s your favorite kind of sandwich and what would you wash it down with?

Favorite Sandwich: Basic. Turkey with a Sierra Nevada mmm, hah.

What one song never ever leaves your music player’s playlist?

Jonny Lang’s “Dying to Live”
