Thanks goes out to all of you listeners and visitors as it’s Thanksgiving! Yaaayy! (Yes, I did succeed in eating so much I was sick – though I wasn’t proper “sick” as the British might think, although two others at our gathering were…)

Also, yet another reminder to vote for us in the European Podcast Awards! You can vote once per day and time is running out (so I won’t be badgering you much longer!)

We’ve got a new Field track as the full disc has graced the top of my desk, all the way from Sacramento, California. I also thank just about everyone who’s helped (as it’s in the spirit of the Thanksgiving season) and discuss my grandma’s famous cinnamon rolls that I’m brewing up for my mates at work. Anyone interested in the recipe? If you ask really nice, maybe I’ll post it next week.

Give us a call on our new voice mail and leave some holiday cheer (that we’ll play on the show!) It’s a US number, or +1 for you outside of the US (and always posted in the sidebar at http://thejustinwayneshow.com) so dial 646-462-4073 with extension 15797. You can also record audio cheer and send it to us via email!

There’s also loads of other great music packed into the show as we’re reminding ourselves of why we began – the music. It’s easy to get wrapped up in the politics of associations and groups, the technical side of things, and everything else that gets in the way but it’s good to remember that we’re here for THE MUSIC and that’s what this show is about.

Speaking of…

<itunes:summary>(http://thejustinwayneshow.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/11/thanksgiving1.jpg)Thanks goes out to all of you listeners and visitors as it's Thanksgiving! Yaaayy! (Yes, I did succeed in eating so much I was sick - though I wasn't proper "sick" as the British might think, although two others at our gathering were...)

Also, yet another reminder to vote for us in the European Podcast Awards! (http://www.european-podcast-award.eu/index.php?id=15&L=1&podid=1115&no_cache=1&tx_ddpodcast_pi1[art]=vote) You can vote once per day and time is running out (so I won't be badgering you much longer!)

We've got a new Field (http://myspace.com/thefieldband)track as the full disc has graced the top of my desk, all the way from Sacramento, California. I also thank just about everyone who's helped (as it's in the spirit of the Thanksgiving season) and discuss my grandma's famous cinnamon rolls that I'm brewing up for my mates at work. Anyone interested in the recipe? If you ask really nice, maybe I'll post it next week.

Give us a call on our new voice mail and leave some holiday cheer (that we'll play on the show!) It's a US number, or +1 for you outside of the US (and always posted in the sidebar at http://thejustinwayneshow.com) so dial 646-462-4073 with extension 15797. You can also record audio cheer and send it to us via email (mailto:thejustinwayneshow@gmail.com)!

There's also loads of other great music packed into the show as we're reminding ourselves of why we began - the music. It's easy to get wrapped up in the politics of associations and groups, the technical side of things, and everything else that gets in the way but it's good to remember that we're here for THE MUSIC and that's what this show is about.

One thing – you don’t get the playlist straightaway. If you want to find out who ended up where on the list for this week and next you’ll have to just listen. I will, however, be including each of our co-presenters’ top 5 lists so you can see who was nominated from the nominations. The next few weeks following this monumental show we’ll be playing some of the nominees that didn’t quite make the cut.

I thank quite a few people on the show but let me take this opportunity to thank you, the web listener for coming back time and again to the site to listen to the show. We wouldn’t be where we are and doing as well as we are now without you, so thanks!

Here are the Top 5 lists from our co-presenters. Make sure you subscribe or listen to the show this week to find out who ended up where in the countdown and I’ll be posting the true list in a few weeks.

Hiya! <==favorite new London greeting Yes, this week’s episode contains quite a few artists featuring the 88 key monster, the piano! (or keyboards… organs… glockenspiels…) Say, “hello,” to my new friend Nerys Joseph who’s got her first show on the song (or song on the show…?) this week. A great singer-songwriter from London you’re definitely going to be hearing more from her as the weeks go by. Check her out at www.myspace.com/nerysjosephmusic.

Lots of other great tunes on the show this week… got some exciting things coming up in the coming weeks. I’ll give you a taste.

1st cool upcoming thing:
Bobby Scotch has been doing a bunch of legwork for The Spot and should be commended for getting permission to play a bunch of artists in the hip/hop realm including the support of a major independent (oxymoron, I know) label in Minneapolis, Rhymesayers Entertainment. If you don’t know them, or if you do and you’d like to say, “Hello,” click to: www.rhymesayers.com. Tell them Bobby Scotch from the Justin Wayne Show sent you.

If you are a hip/hop artist and would like to be featured on The Spot, shoot Bobby Scotch an email with mp3s or ask him for a mailing address. Click on his contact info in the sidebar, if you don’t see it scroll down a bit. He might tell you where he lives, if you’re of any interest to him. He’s a nice chap on a good day, so be nice and you might get on his good side.

His email: bobbyscotch@gmail.com

He really is a nice guy. Unless you mess with him. In fact, if you’re a normal person and just want to say, “Hello” and ask for Bobby’s address to come visit, he’d like that as well.

Yes, I’m in a punchy mood today.

2nd cool upcoming thing:
The subscription drive is upon us! Next week we’re going to kick off a two-month long subscription drive to up the number of subscribers for the show. For money? For fame? NO! We’re doing it to increase the appeal of the show in the eyes of artists. If you poured your heart and soul into an EP wouldn’t you feel better sending it to a podcast that had 50 subscribers instead of 20? How about 100? (The correct answers were both, “yes” if you were curious.)

We’ll talk more about goals, and what you can do to help next week. For now, check your own iTunes, Google, or other RSS viewer’s subscription to the show. If you’re not subscribed yet, click on the “subscribe in a reader” link in the top of the sidebar and SORT IT OUT! We need every subscription we can get. Subscribe twice! Email your friends and tell them about the fabulous independent music, interviews and fun times over here at the Justin Wayne Show.

Alrighty, you’ve been so patient! Here’s the playlist…

It’s a very special episode of the Show this week, thanks to a fabulous contribution from a fabulous movie. Have you seen “Once”? If you haven’t, you definitely should. It’s about a struggling musician in Dublin, Ireland trying to make it. He meets a girl who becomes his muse and many wonderful songs in sue. You’ll find a few of these songs contained in this weeks show as the Band of the Week. Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova wrote and starred in this film and they have their own musical outfits too.

The Frames (at www.theframes.ie) is Glen’s project that has gone on for many years. He began his musical career as a street performer, or as the Europeans call it “Busking”, at the tender age of 13 and the rest has been a long, hard-working journey to where he is now.

Marketa joins him in his project called The Swell Season (at www.myspace.com/theswellseason) which is the touring group playing most of the songs from the movie. They’re playing Cochella on April 25th in California as well as many dates in the states. Head over to one of those sites and check them out, they’re a fabulous group with tunes that will have you falling in love with the next moderately attractive person that buys you a cup of tea.

Also, this episode contains the answer to which movie the quote, “Heroes get remembered, legends never die,” is from. Wasn’t that from Episode 8 or 9? Yeah, I think it was.

That quote is from the song leading off the show this week, so with a nifty little segue, let’s hit the playlist…
