Episode 70: My Big Fat American Holiday

thanksgiving1Thanks goes out to all of you listeners and visitors as it’s Thanksgiving!  Yaaayy!  (Yes, I did succeed in eating so much I was sick – though I wasn’t proper “sick” as the British might think, although two others at our gathering were…)

Also, yet another reminder to vote for us in the European Podcast Awards! You can vote once per day and time is running out (so I won’t be badgering you much longer!)

We’ve got a new Field track as the full disc has graced the top of my desk, all the way from Sacramento, California.  I also thank just about everyone who’s helped (as it’s in the spirit of the Thanksgiving season) and discuss my grandma’s famous cinnamon rolls that I’m brewing up for my mates at work.  Anyone interested in the recipe?  If you ask really nice, maybe I’ll post it next week.

Give us a call on our new voice mail and leave some holiday cheer (that we’ll play on the show!) It’s a US number, or +1 for you outside of the US (and always posted in the sidebar at http://thejustinwayneshow.com) so dial 646-462-4073 with extension 15797.  You can also record audio cheer and send it to us via email!

There’s also loads of other great music packed into the show as we’re reminding ourselves of why we began – the music.  It’s easy to get wrapped up in the politics of associations and groups, the technical side of things, and everything else that gets in the way but it’s good to remember that we’re here for THE MUSIC and that’s what this show is about.

Speaking of…

Episode 65: Sandpaper

Jordan's "Sandpaper"

Jordan's "Sandpaper"

So… this is Jordan about 10 minutes after shaving.  How many times per day does he have to do this to maintain his baby face?  He’s a committed individual, goes without saying.  You don’t need to do all that WORK!  Just grow it out and trim it once a week!  BRIL!

(It’s actually George Michael, but doesn’t it look a lot like Jordan?!)

Oh yeah!  We do a music show don’t we?  RIGHT… Lots of great new tracks this week including a Monumental Music feature with Trenton and Free Radical, Gabby Young and Other Animals, and Lana all putting out singles or albums this coming week.  Hit up Monumental Management for more info.

ALSO…  the Return of the King… Bobby Scotch.  The Spot with Bobby Scotch returns with a vengeance – and Kid A of ARM management bringing some fabulous tunes, tidings of The Spot being fully rekindled and burning away at http://bobbyscotch.com and he promises to come back to The Justin Wayne Show very soon.

No beards were harmed in the making of this podcast.

Episode 44: Apparently

Apparently, this week I’m a fan of the word, “apparently.” Try to ignore it.

Elsewise, we’re still working on thejustinwayneshow.com but the new myspace page is now up and running. Go make friends at http://www.myspace.com/thejustinwayneshow

We will be featuring a few new bands on the show in the coming weeks with reviews of upcoming albums. Also, we’re starting something called The Free Music Feature.

In the wake of the P2P revolution bands have begun releasing songs, EP and even full LPs for free. Need some new music for the car but have a big recession dent in your wallet? Come on over to the Free Music Feature (well… not yet! When we’re done!) and you can load up on great music for free.

Wanna submit your music for either of these up and coming JW Show happenings? Wanna be on the cusp of something fantastic? Scroll down and on the right-hand side you’ll see the info on how to submit.

Thanks for that. Now onto this week’s playlist.

Happy Birthday Best 2009! (Episode 36)

It’s finally time. It’s finally come. I can’t believe it’s been one whole year since we’ve started. I suppose if you count the time that I spent acquiring the first chunks of music before the show even began, we’d have been at this almost 13 months now, but let’s not count that, it’s not fair.

One thing – you don’t get the playlist straightaway. If you want to find out who ended up where on the list for this week and next you’ll have to just listen. I will, however, be including each of our co-presenters’ top 5 lists so you can see who was nominated from the nominations. The next few weeks following this monumental show we’ll be playing some of the nominees that didn’t quite make the cut.

I thank quite a few people on the show but let me take this opportunity to thank you, the web listener for coming back time and again to the site to listen to the show. We wouldn’t be where we are and doing as well as we are now without you, so thanks!

Here are the Top 5 lists from our co-presenters. Make sure you subscribe or listen to the show this week to find out who ended up where in the countdown and I’ll be posting the true list in a few weeks.

Cheers! Happy Birthday, Show!
