A weekly independent music show bringing underground, unsigned, and independent tunes to your ears. Playing music that deserves to be heard for those who deserve better music.
Yup, I was hungry… and now a bit sick – but we’ve got TUNES and VOTING to talk about!
Piles of great new songs rolling in and we’ve got a bunch of them on this week including Pacific Northwest gems Hey Marseilles and a new one from Cincinnati’s Pomegranates.
Also, voting for the first annual Recharged Radio Awards has begun, and some of our short listed groups from The Justin Wayne Show Birthday Best Awards are there, along with lots of other great tracks. Pop over to put in your vote, and to find some great new music!
That’s about all from me for now, pop the kettle on, grab a bucket of your favorite fried chicken, and let’s have a great show!

(I’ve been putting up the links a bit later, I hope that hasn’t made anyone upset. If it has, let me know! Comment on this post or drop me an email.)
Thanks goes out to all of you listeners and visitors as it’s Thanksgiving! Yaaayy! (Yes, I did succeed in eating so much I was sick – though I wasn’t proper “sick” as the British might think, although two others at our gathering were…)
We’ve got a new Field track as the full disc has graced the top of my desk, all the way from Sacramento, California. I also thank just about everyone who’s helped (as it’s in the spirit of the Thanksgiving season) and discuss my grandma’s famous cinnamon rolls that I’m brewing up for my mates at work. Anyone interested in the recipe? If you ask really nice, maybe I’ll post it next week.
Give us a call on our new voice mail and leave some holiday cheer (that we’ll play on the show!) It’s a US number, or +1 for you outside of the US (and always posted in the sidebar at http://thejustinwayneshow.com) so dial 646-462-4073 with extension 15797. You can also record audio cheer and send it to us via email!
There’s also loads of other great music packed into the show as we’re reminding ourselves of why we began – the music. It’s easy to get wrapped up in the politics of associations and groups, the technical side of things, and everything else that gets in the way but it’s good to remember that we’re here for THE MUSIC and that’s what this show is about.
Speaking of…
The Justin Wayne Show Episode 70: My Big Fat American Holiday
Come have some leftovers with us next week as we get ready to launch the nomination process for The Justin Wayne Show Birthday Best, 2010. Wanna see what it was like last year? The Justin Wayne Show Birthday Best 2009.
Yeah, it’s Halloween. Creepy stuff is bound to happen, especially on an episode 66!
The Justin Wayne Show indulges in our first Track of the Week (or TOTW as it’s called around the campfire) with a very great track called “Honesty Policy” by a new band to the show, Zalinski. They’ve just recorded their second EP and we’re excited to get our dirty little finger and paws all over it.
Our first video feature, direct from Colin’s Weekly Music Video Podcast is Vitriol by another new band to the show, Bluejuice. These guys are absolutely amazing – so much so they don’t have to take anything seriously. Have a look at their video for this song below.
Brett of Monumental Music Group joins us for a chat in the second half of the show as well as more discussion about Jordan’s alleged beard he’s trying to grow and things like that.
AND, and and… I forgot to mention this on the show but we’ve got a voicemail set up in the US now, thanks to our friends at drop.io (those same friendly folk who provide our FTP dropbox that’s so slick.) It’s just there in the sidebar or dial (within the US or internationally it’s +1) 646-462-4073and extension 15797. Go on, leave us a message and we’ll get it onto the show.
That’s about it, let’s get this playlist out there.
The Justin Wayne Show, Episode 66: The Wrath of Wayne
Martin Goddard from the fabulous Sierra Alpha joins us via satellite (does anyone say “via satellite anymore?) for a chat about their path into the limelight, how hard work pays off, and where they’re heading. Also expect a few of their tracks. A treat? You bet.
We’ve also got a lot of stuff through the post and in the dropbox from friends made at the Surface Unsigned London Finals last weekend, and you’ll be hearing quite a few as we gear up for the big finals on the 26th and 27th of September.
As we near our first streaming broadcast on Recharged Radio we’re working on the format of the show. Please let us know what you think by “adding comments” or just emailing us at thejustinwayneshow (at) gmail (dot) com. Yeah, you’ve gotta type it in as I’ve been winning WAY too much money lately.
You win on this episode 60 with some really great tunes. Here’s the list.
