Episode 80: More Music!

That’s right, we didn’t have  special guest this week so it was music, music, and more music!  TOTW goes to our friend Karim Fanous, and the tune happens to be the title track to his Mad Masters EP that’s out now (as you can see to the left!)  Interested in owning this EP yourself?  Just shoot an email to jw@thejustinwayneshow.com and tell us what the 4th track is on the album and I’ll send you a copy.  1st one to do it WINS IT, and I’ve only got one to give!

Speaking of winning discs, it’s time to officially announce “The Scudley Sessions” our live sessions down in Perth, Austrailia at Scudley Records’ Studios with producer Pete Renzullo.  We interviewed him a few weeks back and liked him so much we asked him to stay!  He’s got some live sets and chats to the Perth artists, and we’re going to be launching it March 10th, so be there or be square.  More about this next week.

We’ve also got  quite a few new submissions (and quite a few more for next week) so let us know what you like and what you don’t.  Just click below on the “Leave Comment” button and do just that.

In other news, I’m teaming up with Kimmi Rudolph of The Metal Deli to add another show onto my belt and the lipstick case of Insomnia Radio.  It’s Insomnia Radio: Chicago and we’re getting all of our stuff together to launch it.  We’ll have a mini-episode this week and then full, one-hour podcasted episodes bi-weekly after that.  Are you a Chicago artist?  Are you a Chicago music lover?  C’mon over!

Enough chatter from me.  Here’s the playlist.

Episode 74: First One for Twenty Ten

Great stuff this week as Track of the Week goes to the new track from Project called “The Compass” and our video feature is a smashing video from the boys over at The Scratch of their song, “Teen Idol.”  We played the song on the show and the video is here on the website.

2010-1As for the title of this show… Yeah, I typed it out because I don’t wanna be misheard.  It is the future now, and I want to make sure it’s pronounced properly!

(Remember this film which came out in 1984 starring none other than Mr. Jaws himself Roy Schieder?  How come we haven’t discovered new life on other planets yet?  It seems like it’s about time!)

Well, we have discovered new music!  (Great segue… I know…) And we’re gearing up for another great year here at The Justin Wayne Show and at Recharged Radio.  We’ll be putting out two podcasts, apart from the regular show that will contain all of the nominees for our Anniversary Awards Show coming up on the 3rd of February, The Birthday Best.

You’ll get to vote, too!  We’ll be putting up the ballot for you next week once the nominee podcasts are available to you can listen to all the nominees (the best tracks of the year… about 60 of them) and then pick your favorite to make the Audience Choice Award this year.  That will be available next week.  Cool, huh?

We think so.  I’ve been getting ballots back from our staff here as well (as we have some awards chosen by the staff to give out as well) and it’s looking like it’s going to be an exciting show.  Heck, it is the best music of the year!

But we always play good music, don’t we?  How about this week’s playlist?

Episode 67: Cliches, EPs and Bikinis

Black Bikini Alpha

Black Bikini Alpha

With an interview with Phil of Modern Cliches, another Track of the Week, a review, and launching the new voicemail (it’s a US number, so +1, then 646-462-4073 and extension 15797) to we’ve got quite the packed show this week!

First, Phil joins us for a chat about the upcoming Modern Cliches double A side, about upcoming gigs and other things.

The Track of the Week comes to us from our new friends over at Futureproof Records and Promotions.  They’re called Black Bikini Alpha and their newest single, “Nightmare” drops at the end of the month (the 29th of November.)

We’ve also got “Soar”, a pre-release track from the upcoming Zalinski EP release called Actions, Reactions and Misunderstandings.  It’s quite good, and we’re gonna have them on the show for an interview next week so make sure you come back.

Speaking of coming back… come and participate on the live show!  I’ve put nifty “figure-out-the-showtime-in-my-timezone” link on the website, or if you’re time zone savvy just come to The Justin Wayne Show dot com or Recharged Radio dot com at 8pm GMT.  (It’s 3pm Eastern, 2pm Central, 1pm Mountain, 12pm Pacific for you Americans). If you’re a band, it’s a GREAT way to get your stuff played as you can talk to me via the chatroom and I’d be a fool not to play your stuff if your chatting in the chatroom.  It’d seem pretty rude, wouldn’t it?  So, by that it’s also a great way to chat with the artists that get played on the show.  Kind of like a forum?  (Don’t tell Jordan I said that.)

That’s about it this week.  Here’s what you came for…

Have a great week!

Episode 65: Sandpaper

Jordan's "Sandpaper"

Jordan's "Sandpaper"

So… this is Jordan about 10 minutes after shaving.  How many times per day does he have to do this to maintain his baby face?  He’s a committed individual, goes without saying.  You don’t need to do all that WORK!  Just grow it out and trim it once a week!  BRIL!

(It’s actually George Michael, but doesn’t it look a lot like Jordan?!)

Oh yeah!  We do a music show don’t we?  RIGHT… Lots of great new tracks this week including a Monumental Music feature with Trenton and Free Radical, Gabby Young and Other Animals, and Lana all putting out singles or albums this coming week.  Hit up Monumental Management for more info.

ALSO…  the Return of the King… Bobby Scotch.  The Spot with Bobby Scotch returns with a vengeance – and Kid A of ARM management bringing some fabulous tunes, tidings of The Spot being fully rekindled and burning away at http://bobbyscotch.com and he promises to come back to The Justin Wayne Show very soon.

No beards were harmed in the making of this podcast.
