You can listen to both the uncut interview as well as just the broadcast interview down in the sidebar under “Interviews”.

Dan has been a prolific musician throughout his life (as you’ll hear in the interview) and went from classical guitar to vocal studies at University, then as a cover musician, onto directing music as the music pastor at a church, and now has moved into creating and promoting his own music – no more covers.

An interesting thing happened to me last week. As I’ve been spending a lot of time at my parents’ house here in Minnesota biding my time and finding things to do, I burned my Dad almost all of the shows on CD and sent them with him to his work. (Apparently, all the shows will burn onto any old CD-R aside from episodes 3 and 4. Episode 4 will fit on a nicer CD-R but episode 3 is too big for any. You’ll just have to enjoy that one on your computer or mp3 device. Sorry about that!)

The CDs began to make their way around the shop he works in, and low and behold I received a phone call the next day praising the show. Thus, I was introduced to Jason who enjoyed the fresh outlet of music which was all completely new to him. We talked some more (because I do like hearing praise, especially about the show) and I found out that he was a snowboarder and had tried to snowboard across one of those ditches full of water that we see all the time on ESPN. I had him tell the story on the show and you can hear it now if you listen to Episode 10.

As it is such a momentous occasion as we’ve reached a milestone in the Show’s life, I wanted to take this opportunity to thank some of the integral people to the Show as we know it today.

First, a special thanks to Ryan Flynn who does all of our imaging, TOTHs (top of the hour), and little stabs that keep a uniform and professional quality to the show. Thank you, Ryan for all your hard work.

A special thanks to my co-hosts Jason Ober and Bill Buckner. Both of you guys are great on the air and great to have associated with the show. All of your efforts on and off the mic are greatly appreciated by myself and our listeners. Thanks, guys.

And last, but not least, let me thank the encouraging presence of Jamie. Without you, darling, this show would have never gone anywhere. It would still be in my head and I’d have regrets for not going further with it. So, for that and for everything else you do great in my life, I love you and thank you.

And, of course, thanks to all the artists who have their music so boldly placed in the show.

Oh, and thank YOU for listening. Without listeners, we’d be talking and playing music at the wall, and how much fun is that, really?

And without further ado, here’s the playlist for this week.

<itunes:summary>An interesting thing happened to me last week. As I've been spending a lot of time at my parents' house here in Minnesota biding my time and finding things to do, I burned my Dad almost all of the shows on CD and sent them with him to his work. (Apparently, all the shows will burn onto any old CD-R aside from episodes 3 and 4. Episode 4 will fit on a nicer CD-R but episode 3 is too big for any. You'll just have to enjoy that one on your computer or mp3 device.

As it is such a momentous occasion as we've reached a milestone in the Show's life, I wanted to take this opportunity to thank some of the integral people to the Show as we know it today.

It would still be in my head and I'd have regrets for not going further with it. So, for that and for everything else you do great in my life, I love you and thank you.

And, of course, thanks to all the artists who have their music so boldly placed in the show.

Oh, and thank YOU for listening. Without listeners, we'd be talking and playing music at the wall, and how much fun is that, really?

And without further ado, here's the playlist for this week.

Hello everyone from the frozen city of Minneapolis. After almost two days of travel crammed into one super-long day I made it back to the homeland on Wednesday. I’ve got many stories to tell, so keep an eye on the blog for more stories about Air India (the best airline out there, seriously), my trip to Duluth with Lights Out Dancing, leftover Halloween costumes and more. We’ll see how much time I find to write all these stories. There’s just so many good ones!

You know that its true
That I could get really sick and tired of you.”

That’s the chorus from the Band of the Week, Four Year Strong. An amazing group of guys I’m told by my cohost this week, Ryan. One of the hardest working, hardest touring bands right now on the indie punk scene you should definitely cruise over and check them out. They’re starting a US tour starting on March 18th through till the beginning of May and they’ve also got dates booked all the way through August. Check them out on Myspace at www.myspace.com/fouryearstrong or at a very interesting homepage web address www.fucktheguywhoownsfouryearstrong.com.

I didn’t say that one on the show for good reason. I’m trying to keep my “clean” rating in good standing. It’s not that I don’t appreciate it. I do.

A special thanks to Ryan from Lights Out Dancing for co-hosting the show. We’ll definitely get him back to do another, we had such fun doing it and I’m sure you could tell.

Keep an eye out this week as I divulge my stories about my traveling and such. It’s been a very fun week aside from the fact that I have to be away from the love of my life. She’s there in London, so, “London, take care of her!”

The Justin Wayne Show Podcast Time!

Welcome back. I’ve been doing a bit of experimentation and research and after realizing that there’s some difference between typing the subscribe URL into your browser and clicking on the link in the sidebar here, I’ve found the best way. I’ll be able to email the link, but the best way is to click on the link. It even says, “Click Here, it’s Easy!” because that’s the easiest way to either listen or subscribe.

And that’s final. I’ll add a widget into my sidebar here so you can listen straight off the blog AND on my myspace page. There’s a banner for the show there that you can copy and paste the HTML onto your page and you, too can support the JW Show on your Myspace page!

The Band of the Week this time is Asthmaboy. Their project is incredibly unique. Glindon Marten put this album together with his graphic design portfolio in the summer of 2007. A beautiful website, anyone can download the ENTIRE ALBUM FOR FREE. Head over to www.asthmaboymusic.com or you can find them on myspace too at www.myspace.com/asthmaboymusic.

I got the chance to interview Glindon and his writing partner John Boone on the show this week as well, and learned a bit about why they did it, how they work as a writing team, and what they think of music’s digital revolution. Check it out on the show.

I am also aware that the links on the site didn’t work for about a week. A few of these would allow you to listen to the show, and it made me sad that these problems happened so early in the show’s life. This was due to my web hosting company’s delay in transferring the information to their new platform, and I apologize for any delay or hindrance this may have caused any of you. If you were trying last week to get the show to work, have no fear, try again. Click up there on the “Click on Me, it’s Easy” link and it will help you out. Welcome back. I've been doing a bit of experimentation and research and after realizing that there's some difference between typing the subscribe URL into your browser and clicking on the link in the sidebar here, I've found the best way. I'll be able to email the link, but the best way is to click on the link. It even says, "Click Here, it's Easy!" because that's the easiest way to either listen or subscribe.

And that's final. I'll add a widget into my sidebar here so you can listen straight off the blog AND on my myspace page (http://www.myspace.com/justinwarndt). There's a banner for the show there that you can copy and paste the HTML onto your page and you, too can support the JW Show on your Myspace page!

The Band of the Week this time is Asthmaboy. Their project is incredibly unique. Glindon Marten put this album together with his graphic design portfolio in the summer of 2007. A beautiful website, anyone can download the ENTIRE ALBUM FOR FREE. Head over to www.asthmaboymusic.com (http://www.asthmaboymusic.com/) or you can find them on myspace too at www.myspace.com/asthmaboymusic (http://www.myspace.com/asthmaboymusic).

I got the chance to interview Glindon and his writing partner John Boone on the show this week as well, and learned a bit about why they did it, how they work as a writing team, and what they think of music's digital revolution. Check it out on the show.

I am also aware that the links on the site didn't work for about a week. A few of these would allow you to listen to the show, and it made me sad that these problems happened so early in the show's life. This was due to my web hosting company's delay in transferring the information to their new platform, and I apologize for any delay or hindrance this may have caused any of you. If you were trying last week to get the show to work, have no fear, try again. Click up there on the "Click on Me, it's Easy" link and it will help you out. If it doesn't email me and tell me I'm a jerk and I'll help you personally.

And don't forget, if you want to listen to a specific show or link to it for your website, they're all at the bottom of the sidebar in the mp3 archive. They'll be up for as long as I own the domain (forever?) so feel free to link to any of them.

Here's the playlist. Have a great week and let me know if you have music for me to listen to in order to consider for the show. I'm always on the lookout.

Welcome back to the blog for the JW Show Podcast number three!

Now, with all the link confusion I’ve found a way to work everything out quickly and easily. I must admit, I too was worried about clicking on the “Subscribe in a Reader” link. I thought it might subscribe immediately and not give me a choice as to what to do… blah, blah. I have worries about my computer. I realized that of all people, I shouldn’t be afraid of this link and I clicked on it.

Not only was I wrong, I was dead wrong. Feedburner (not paying me to say this!) has a great little page with everything you’d ever need to subscribe OR just play the show. I was excited. It’s that easy. Just click on the link Subscribe in a Reader and it will take you to this marvelous page with everything you’ll need to listen or subscribe. It’s easy! Try it.

I’d also suggest that link to anyone putting it on their myspace page or sending it out to friends. If you want it typed out:

http://feeds.feedburner.com/TheJustinWayneShow

(Remember, HTML is case-sensitive.)

For all of you artists, I’m putting out the call to send me a little drop with you band’s name it in. You know, like those little drops on the radio? You know. I sent it out in an email too. If you’ve got a microphone, Garageband, Audacity, or you’re in the studio with the whole setup, I don’t care. I can make bad sounding stuff sound good, so send me whatever you can! I don’t want to give you much of a script either, but make sure it’s says “…The Justin Wayne Show” at the end. I’d love to hear how creative you guys (and girls!) can get! I’d love the support.

The band of the week this week was Lights Out Dancing from Minneapolis, Minnesota. I was fortunate to catch up with a few of the band members on the phone and we got them to say a few words – even telling us an almost compromising touring story. Their five-song EP is available from their myspace page at www.myspace.com/lightsoutdancing or find their music on the iTunes directory. Yes, they’re on iTunes.

With a rich blend of high-energy guitars and (I’m not going to say “soaring vocals” because that’s what everyone says, but that’s what I WANT to say) lovely vocals the band has come a long way from their roots as the pop/punk Charmin. Standing out from their peers as they sing positive and motivating songs their EP is enjoyable to listen to and can even provide motivation on a slow day. I find pride in playing their music on the show because I feel it highlights the core of what we’re trying to do too – bring hope to a sometimes hopeless culture. There is a light at the end of the tunnel, and Lights Out Dancing reminds us of that.

And one special thanks… Thanks to Equal Vision Records, a very sweet indie label that’s given us permission to play anything from their website. I wanted to make sure to thank them specifically because they’ve got some great music and it makes me feel good when organizations like them take interest in a project like this. Thanks!
