A weekly independent music show bringing underground, unsigned, and independent tunes to your ears. Playing music that deserves to be heard for those who deserve better music.
Yeah, the stress of the season, work, life… it’s getting to me. Thank goodness Sierra Alpha put out a new single, “Loco” to make me feel a bit better about it. We’ve even got a video feature with the boys singing La Roux’s “Bulletproof” (below the playlist.)
Yeah, it’s Halloween. Creepy stuff is bound to happen, especially on an episode 66!
The Justin Wayne Show indulges in our first Track of the Week (or TOTW as it’s called around the campfire) with a very great track called “Honesty Policy” by a new band to the show, Zalinski. They’ve just recorded their second EP and we’re excited to get our dirty little finger and paws all over it.
Our first video feature, direct from Colin’s Weekly Music Video Podcast is Vitriol by another new band to the show, Bluejuice. These guys are absolutely amazing – so much so they don’t have to take anything seriously. Have a look at their video for this song below.
Brett of Monumental Music Group joins us for a chat in the second half of the show as well as more discussion about Jordan’s alleged beard he’s trying to grow and things like that.
AND, and and… I forgot to mention this on the show but we’ve got a voicemail set up in the US now, thanks to our friends at drop.io (those same friendly folk who provide our FTP dropbox that’s so slick.) It’s just there in the sidebar or dial (within the US or internationally it’s +1) 646-462-4073and extension 15797. Go on, leave us a message and we’ll get it onto the show.
That’s about it, let’s get this playlist out there.
The Justin Wayne Show, Episode 66: The Wrath of Wayne
If you missed it last night don’t worry, there’s plenty more where that came from. We’ve joined up with Recharged Radio and now stream the show over there first at 8pm GMT on Wednesdays… then we podcast it out on Thursday. (I keep saying this for the podcasting folk so they don’t worry!)
We had LOADS of crackin’ tracks on the show this week, nearly 30 which is a JW Show record. Perhaps we’ll have to try and push 30 in one of these upcoming RR shows. It won’t happen with some of the interviews we’ve been scheduling… which is even better news for you!
So… next week 8pm GMT on Wednesday (click for a time zone converter) meet us back here or on http://rechargedradio.com for the next episode. Watch this spot as we may even be doing it live. Like Bill O’Reilly says…
The Justin Wayne Show Episode 62 – Now on Recharged Radio
Thanks to Jarrod for pushing play last night as well as Jordan, Minki, Dave, Alex, and the rest of the RR crew. Happy to be a part!
Also, thanks to those who were in the chatroom on Recharged Radio last night and we’ll be banging on again next week at 8pm GMT over there. (“There” being http://rechargedradio.com.)
This week… Two new ones from Equal Vision Records, two from new-to-the-show Gavin Castleton, and an exclusive Lights Out Dancing demo from their time spent in the studio. Jason’s with us for a bit talking about the new website and the show’s getting longer – more music for YOU.
No LOD interview yet though, look for that next week. Perhaps even in the form of a special…? We’ll see.
Our shout out for comments was about “who was weird in college” or “were people weird in college on purpose to have something to talk about later?” I was weird in college. More on that next week.
Please let us know what you think of the new website! Have a click around and see if you can find any broken links or anything like that. I’ll send you something if you find something good (well, bad really.)
Have a great week! We’ll talk more next week about where the show’s going and get you to weigh in on the particulars. Let us know now what you think about the show getting longer!
Hey! Brand new one from those crazy kids Lights Out Dancing. Hear it here on the show first (if you haven’t heard it first on their myspace page: www.myspace.com/lightsoutdancing)
Also I may have an appearance set up for the wonderful podcast radio show Cloud Sounds! More on that next week, but keep listening to Ted’s wonderful podcast at http://www.cloudsounds.co.uk/
And what a milestone! Thirty episodes! I only dreamed we’d get this far. I’m ready for the next thirty as we continue to widen our listenerbase, inform those “flashing twelves” about podcasts and get this music out there to the people, where it belongs. What a great day.
Here’s the show…
