Great stuff this week as Track of the Week goes to the new track from Project called “The Compass” and our video feature is a smashing video from the boys over at The Scratch of their song, “Teen Idol.” We played the song on the show and the video is here on the website.

As for the title of this show… Yeah, I typed it out because I don’t wanna be misheard. It is the future now, and I want to make sure it’s pronounced properly!

(Remember this film which came out in 1984 starring none other than Mr. Jaws himself Roy Schieder? How come we haven’t discovered new life on other planets yet? It seems like it’s about time!)

Well, we have discovered new music! (Great segue… I know…) And we’re gearing up for another great year here at The Justin Wayne Show and at Recharged Radio. We’ll be putting out two podcasts, apart from the regular show that will contain all of the nominees for our Anniversary Awards Show coming up on the 3rd of February, The Birthday Best.

You’ll get to vote, too! We’ll be putting up the ballot for you next week once the nominee podcasts are available to you can listen to all the nominees (the best tracks of the year… about 60 of them) and then pick your favorite to make the Audience Choice Award this year. That will be available next week. Cool, huh?

We think so. I’ve been getting ballots back from our staff here as well (as we have some awards chosen by the staff to give out as well) and it’s looking like it’s going to be an exciting show. Heck, it is the best music of the year!

But we always play good music, don’t we? How about this week’s playlist?

<itunes:summary>Great stuff this week as Track of the Week goes to the new track from Project (http://tourdates.co.uk/projekt) called "The Compass" and our video feature is a smashing video from the boys over at The Scratch (http://ponylandrecords.co.uk) of their song, "Teen Idol." We played the song on the show and the video is here on the website.

(http://thejustinwayneshow.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/01/2010-1.bmp)As for the title of this show... Yeah, I typed it out because I don't wanna be misheard. It is the future now, and I want to make sure it's pronounced properly!

(Remember this film which came out in 1984 starring none other than Mr. Jaws himself Roy Schieder? How come we haven't discovered new life on other planets yet? It seems like it's about time!)

Well, we have discovered new music! (Great segue... I know...) And we're gearing up for another great year here at The Justin Wayne Show and at Recharged Radio. We'll be putting out two podcasts, apart from the regular show that will contain all of the nominees for our Anniversary Awards Show coming up on the 3rd of February, The Birthday Best.

You'll get to vote, too! We'll be putting up the ballot for you next week once the nominee podcasts are available to you can listen to all the nominees (the best tracks of the year... about 60 of them) and then pick your favorite to make the Audience Choice Award this year. That will be available next week. Cool, huh?

We think so. I've been getting ballots back from our staff here as well (as we have some awards chosen by the staff to give out as well) and it's looking like it's going to be an exciting show. Heck, it is the best music of the year!

But we always play good music, don't we? How about this week's playlist?

It’s a very special episode of the Show this week, thanks to a fabulous contribution from a fabulous movie. Have you seen “Once”? If you haven’t, you definitely should. It’s about a struggling musician in Dublin, Ireland trying to make it. He meets a girl who becomes his muse and many wonderful songs in sue. You’ll find a few of these songs contained in this weeks show as the Band of the Week. Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova wrote and starred in this film and they have their own musical outfits too.

The Frames (at www.theframes.ie) is Glen’s project that has gone on for many years. He began his musical career as a street performer, or as the Europeans call it “Busking”, at the tender age of 13 and the rest has been a long, hard-working journey to where he is now.

Marketa joins him in his project called The Swell Season (at www.myspace.com/theswellseason) which is the touring group playing most of the songs from the movie. They’re playing Cochella on April 25th in California as well as many dates in the states. Head over to one of those sites and check them out, they’re a fabulous group with tunes that will have you falling in love with the next moderately attractive person that buys you a cup of tea.

Also, this episode contains the answer to which movie the quote, “Heroes get remembered, legends never die,” is from. Wasn’t that from Episode 8 or 9? Yeah, I think it was.

That quote is from the song leading off the show this week, so with a nifty little segue, let’s hit the playlist…

Hello everyone from the frozen city of Minneapolis. After almost two days of travel crammed into one super-long day I made it back to the homeland on Wednesday. I’ve got many stories to tell, so keep an eye on the blog for more stories about Air India (the best airline out there, seriously), my trip to Duluth with Lights Out Dancing, leftover Halloween costumes and more. We’ll see how much time I find to write all these stories. There’s just so many good ones!

“I’ve seen the best and worst of you
But we’re sticking through
Cause the without all of the ups and downs
We’ve been through
You know that its true
That I could get really sick and tired of you.”

That’s the chorus from the Band of the Week, Four Year Strong. An amazing group of guys I’m told by my cohost this week, Ryan. One of the hardest working, hardest touring bands right now on the indie punk scene you should definitely cruise over and check them out. They’re starting a US tour starting on March 18th through till the beginning of May and they’ve also got dates booked all the way through August. Check them out on Myspace at www.myspace.com/fouryearstrong or at a very interesting homepage web address www.fucktheguywhoownsfouryearstrong.com.

I didn’t say that one on the show for good reason. I’m trying to keep my “clean” rating in good standing. It’s not that I don’t appreciate it. I do.

A special thanks to Ryan from Lights Out Dancing for co-hosting the show. We’ll definitely get him back to do another, we had such fun doing it and I’m sure you could tell.

Keep an eye out this week as I divulge my stories about my traveling and such. It’s been a very fun week aside from the fact that I have to be away from the love of my life. She’s there in London, so, “London, take care of her!”

Thanks a lot for frequenting the blog and the podcast, I appreciate it.

Thanks to all the artists for a great show, and a special thanks to my brother and member of Lights Out Dancing for co-hosting this week. He’ll definitely be asked back to the show again, so listeners have no fear. He’ll be back.

Thank you for all the support and help over the past few months this has been going on. I look forward to a long working relationship with all of you; bands and listeners alike.

Cheers,

<itunes:summary>Hello everyone from the frozen city of Minneapolis. After almost two days of travel crammed into one super-long day I made it back to the homeland on Wednesday. I've got many stories to tell, so keep an eye on the blog for more stories about Air India (the best airline out there, seriously), my trip to Duluth with Lights Out Dancing, leftover Halloween costumes and more. We'll see how much time I find to write all these stories. There's just so many good ones!
"I've seen the best and worst of you
But we're sticking through
Cause the without all of the ups and downs
We've been through
You know that its true
That I could get really sick and tired of you."
That's the chorus from the Band of the Week, Four Year Strong. An amazing group of guys I'm told by my cohost this week, Ryan. One of the hardest working, hardest touring bands right now on the indie punk scene you should definitely cruise over and check them out. They're starting a US tour starting on March 18th through till the beginning of May and they've also got dates booked all the way through August. Check them out on Myspace at www.myspace.com/fouryearstrong (http://www.myspace.com/fouryearstrong) or at a very interesting homepage web address www.fucktheguywhoownsfouryearstrong.com (http://www.fucktheguywhoownsfouryearstrong.com/).

I didn't say that one on the show for good reason. I'm trying to keep my "clean" rating in good standing. It's not that I don't appreciate it. I do.

A special thanks to Ryan from Lights Out Dancing for co-hosting the show. We'll definitely get him back to do another, we had such fun doing it and I'm sure you could tell.

Keep an eye out this week as I divulge my stories about my traveling and such. It's been a very fun week aside from the fact that I have to be away from the love of my life. She's there in London, so, "London, take care of her!"

Thanks a lot for frequenting the blog and the podcast, I appreciate it.
