A weekly independent music show bringing underground, unsigned, and independent tunes to your ears. Playing music that deserves to be heard for those who deserve better music.
We’ve also got the Joe and Ollie from the Cardiff-based band OK courtesy of Futureproof Promotions in to chat with us about their upcoming full-length album release, Under the Weather but Over the Moon coming out on 14th of March shortly after the single, “It’s Not too Late” appears on the 7th of March (we’ve got the video posted below in our Video Feature). We’ll hear tunes from all of them as well as interviews with each of them.
That band, "OK"
Track of the Week comes from the Birthday Best last week. Our Artist of the Year, Natasha Davies, gets her track “Giggle” as the TOTW for this week.
We’ll also be posting the Birthday Best list to the site, so if you’re still wondering if you were in the top 25 JW Show songs of the year and you’ve still been too lazy to listen to show 77, then you’ll be able to see them. Just head to http://thejustinwayneshow.com.
That’s about it for news! Here comes the playlist
The Justin Wayne Show Episode 78: Year Three, Here We Go!
For next week we’ve got two more interviews including news about the Euro Podcasting Awards. Have you voted? If you have or if you haven’t give us three clicks and you’ll vote again! The voting is nearly over so head to http://thejustinwayneshow.com/vote to do your civic JW Show duty.
That’s right, I’ve gotten another year older and with that played a real plethera of genres and artists this week… even snuck in some Country!
We’ve also just posted the nominees for The Justin Wayne Show Birthday Best Awards on the 3rd of February. If you want to see who’s up for the big show, AND add your vote for Audience Choice Award head to (easy to remember) http://thejustinwayneshow.com/vote. Press the “retweet” button too, would ya? Get out the message to you and yours and get them voting too, as voting ends 12pm, on the 2nd of February.
As for this week’s show…
The Justin Wayne Show Episode 75: It’s My Birthday and I’ll Play What I Want To
Anyone else celebrate Saint Nicholas Day? You do now! HAH!
And, wanna help us win a Euro Podcast Award? Vote here! If you’re already voted, you can vote again (every day, in fact) if you like.
Right… thanks for coming back again to the show and remember that we’ll be back next week with a live show PACKED with new submissions and sprinklings from Alex, the music guru within the Recharged knowledge bank.
We’re talking a bunch about the Justin Wayne Show Birthday Best to be at the end of January 2010. It will be highlighting the best tracks played on this show this year. Wanna be a part? You’ve got to GET PLAYED! Send your tracks (to the playa…) at http://thejustinwayneshow.com/submit-music where there’s instructions and a fancy FTP uploader. Or you can email them.
Not only will the JW Show Crew be voting on songs, bands, and artists this year but we’ll also be including YOUR input via this website. Stay tuned for more info on that.
And stay tuned for… the playlist!
The Justin Wayne Show Episode 72: One for Saint Nicholas
Yeah, it’s Halloween. Creepy stuff is bound to happen, especially on an episode 66!
The Justin Wayne Show indulges in our first Track of the Week (or TOTW as it’s called around the campfire) with a very great track called “Honesty Policy” by a new band to the show, Zalinski. They’ve just recorded their second EP and we’re excited to get our dirty little finger and paws all over it.
Our first video feature, direct from Colin’s Weekly Music Video Podcast is Vitriol by another new band to the show, Bluejuice. These guys are absolutely amazing – so much so they don’t have to take anything seriously. Have a look at their video for this song below.
Brett of Monumental Music Group joins us for a chat in the second half of the show as well as more discussion about Jordan’s alleged beard he’s trying to grow and things like that.
AND, and and… I forgot to mention this on the show but we’ve got a voicemail set up in the US now, thanks to our friends at drop.io (those same friendly folk who provide our FTP dropbox that’s so slick.) It’s just there in the sidebar or dial (within the US or internationally it’s +1) 646-462-4073and extension 15797. Go on, leave us a message and we’ll get it onto the show.
That’s about it, let’s get this playlist out there.
The Justin Wayne Show, Episode 66: The Wrath of Wayne
If you missed it last night don’t worry, there’s plenty more where that came from. We’ve joined up with Recharged Radio and now stream the show over there first at 8pm GMT on Wednesdays… then we podcast it out on Thursday. (I keep saying this for the podcasting folk so they don’t worry!)
We had LOADS of crackin’ tracks on the show this week, nearly 30 which is a JW Show record. Perhaps we’ll have to try and push 30 in one of these upcoming RR shows. It won’t happen with some of the interviews we’ve been scheduling… which is even better news for you!
So… next week 8pm GMT on Wednesday (click for a time zone converter) meet us back here or on http://rechargedradio.com for the next episode. Watch this spot as we may even be doing it live. Like Bill O’Reilly says…
The Justin Wayne Show Episode 62 – Now on Recharged Radio
Thanks to Jarrod for pushing play last night as well as Jordan, Minki, Dave, Alex, and the rest of the RR crew. Happy to be a part!
Also, thanks to those who were in the chatroom on Recharged Radio last night and we’ll be banging on again next week at 8pm GMT over there. (“There” being http://rechargedradio.com.)
