With an interview with Phil of Modern Cliches, another Track of the Week, a review, and launching the new voicemail (it’s a US number, so +1, then 646-462-4073 and extension 15797) to we’ve got quite the packed show this week!

First, Phil joins us for a chat about the upcoming Modern Cliches double A side, about upcoming gigs and other things.

The Track of the Week comes to us from our new friends over at Futureproof Records and Promotions. They’re called Black Bikini Alpha and their newest single, “Nightmare” drops at the end of the month (the 29th of November.)

We’ve also got “Soar”, a pre-release track from the upcoming Zalinski EP release called Actions, Reactions and Misunderstandings. It’s quite good, and we’re gonna have them on the show for an interview next week so make sure you come back.

Speaking of coming back… come and participate on the live show! I’ve put nifty “figure-out-the-showtime-in-my-timezone” link on the website, or if you’re time zone savvy just come to The Justin Wayne Show dot com or Recharged Radio dot com at 8pm GMT. (It’s 3pm Eastern, 2pm Central, 1pm Mountain, 12pm Pacific for you Americans). If you’re a band, it’s a GREAT way to get your stuff played as you can talk to me via the chatroom and I’d be a fool not to play your stuff if your chatting in the chatroom. It’d seem pretty rude, wouldn’t it? So, by that it’s also a great way to chat with the artists that get played on the show. Kind of like a forum? (Don’t tell Jordan I said that.)

That’s about it this week. Here’s what you came for…

<itunes:summary>With an interview with Phil of Modern Cliches (http://myspace.com/moderncliches), another Track of the Week, a review, and launching the new voicemail (it's a US number, so +1, then 646-462-4073 and extension 15797) to we've got quite the packed show this week!

First, Phil joins us for a chat about the upcoming Modern Cliches double A side, about upcoming gigs and other things.

The Track of the Week comes to us from our new friends over at Futureproof Records and Promotions. They're called Black Bikini Alpha (http://blackbikinialpha.com) and their newest single, "Nightmare" drops at the end of the month (the 29th of November.)

We've also got "Soar", a pre-release track from the upcoming Zalinski EP release called Actions, Reactions and Misunderstandings. It's quite good, and we're gonna have them on the show for an interview next week so make sure you come back.

Speaking of coming back... come and participate on the live show! I've put nifty "figure-out-the-showtime-in-my-timezone" link on the website, or if you're time zone savvy just come to The Justin Wayne Show dot com or Recharged Radio dot com at 8pm GMT. (It's 3pm Eastern, 2pm Central, 1pm Mountain, 12pm Pacific for you Americans). If you're a band, it's a GREAT way to get your stuff played as you can talk to me via the chatroom and I'd be a fool not to play your stuff if your chatting in the chatroom. It'd seem pretty rude, wouldn't it? So, by that it's also a great way to chat with the artists that get played on the show. Kind of like a forum? (Don't tell Jordan I said that.)

That's about it this week. Here's what you came for...

Welcome back to Episode 11! As you may have heard, there’s a tune on this episode from the infamous (and wonderful) Presidents of the United States of America. I normally play just unsigned and hard-working bands but I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to play them and I hope you enjoy the song I chose.

As far as the personal things are concerned I’m still here in the parents’ basement keeping it as warm (and clean) as I can. I may be heading out on tour with the band on Saturday, but that only means the Show is going on the road and we’ll be doing it all from a different location. Who knows, maybe I’ll have the opportunity to have some fun people on the show that we run into, I just don’t know! A lot can happen between now and the next show so keep your eye on the blog and your iTunes downloading your episodes.

I discovered this band on a pile of demos in the band’s practice space and as we were listening to them on our way home we threw this one in and were amazed.

Welcome back to the show! Those of you keeping score at home (…or at work…) have probably recognized the fact that I haven’t added any cool stories to the blog in the last few weeks. You might also know that I’ve been traveling – from London to Minnesota and now all around this wonderful state of the union – so I, for lack of a better phrase, have been doing instead of writing. Like Benjamin Franklin once said, “Either write something worth reading or do something worth writing.”

And, as the curly-cue on my chocolate-dipped ice-cream cone (among other sets of words that require a hyphen) my computer is on the fritz. I’m actually sitting in front of an Apple Store right now waiting for them to fix my “hhhhhh” key and clean out my keyboard. I was in there, but I forgot about it so I started to blog and hhhhh… remembered what the other problem was.

So, once I get this puppy fixed I’ll be writing many-a-story for y’all. I promise.

So feel free to take what you please.
For I believe that the giver is also open to receive”

A very provoking song about unrequited love (I think…) from this very interesting and hard-working band out of Minneapolis. Small Towns Burn a Little Slower has been around for quite some time and while they’re currently defunct, they’ve influenced so many other bands in their geographical area and all around in their area of music. Their second full-length release, So Begins the Test of a Man was put out by a sort of angel from on high, Dead Letter Records. As an independent label, Jeremy swooped in and picked up the printing of the hard copies and rescued the band from releasing the album solely via digital download. The band had been put into huge debt through some contractual obligations with a label (we’re not allowed to say or mention much about this…) and were in serious trouble. So, thanks to Jeremy and DLR, the album is out there.

Enjoyable in it’s length as well as it’s individual tunes it was in my head from my first listen. The tracks differentiate themselves enough to where you know when it’s song 3 from song 2 (some pop/punk albums don’t) but also keeps the Small Town’s style and contains a through line that carries you from 1 to done. Hit up Tommy and Jeremy over at their myspace page www.myspace.com/smalltowns and order your copy. You can also find them on iTunes and other digital retailers, but the best way to support the band in their time of need is to buy it directly from them.

Well, it’s time to show you the rest of the songs that Jason and I played this week. I’d like to thank Jason for being on the show with me this week and for his continuous support of the show.

You might also know that I've been traveling - from London to Minnesota and now all around this wonderful state of the union - so I, for lack of a better phrase, have been doing instead of writing.
Welcome back. I’ve been doing a bit of experimentation and research and after realizing that there’s some difference between typing the subscribe URL into your browser and clicking on the link in the sidebar here, I’ve found the best way. I’ll be able to email the link, but the best way is to click on the link. It even says, “Click Here, it’s Easy!” because that’s the easiest way to either listen or subscribe.

And that’s final. I’ll add a widget into my sidebar here so you can listen straight off the blog AND on my myspace page. There’s a banner for the show there that you can copy and paste the HTML onto your page and you, too can support the JW Show on your Myspace page!

The Band of the Week this time is Asthmaboy. Their project is incredibly unique. Glindon Marten put this album together with his graphic design portfolio in the summer of 2007. A beautiful website, anyone can download the ENTIRE ALBUM FOR FREE. Head over to www.asthmaboymusic.com or you can find them on myspace too at www.myspace.com/asthmaboymusic.

I got the chance to interview Glindon and his writing partner John Boone on the show this week as well, and learned a bit about why they did it, how they work as a writing team, and what they think of music’s digital revolution. Check it out on the show.

I am also aware that the links on the site didn’t work for about a week. A few of these would allow you to listen to the show, and it made me sad that these problems happened so early in the show’s life. This was due to my web hosting company’s delay in transferring the information to their new platform, and I apologize for any delay or hindrance this may have caused any of you. If you were trying last week to get the show to work, have no fear, try again. Click up there on the “Click on Me, it’s Easy” link and it will help you out. If it doesn’t email me and tell me I’m a jerk and I’ll help you personally.

And don’t forget, if you want to listen to a specific show or link to it for your website, they’re all at the bottom of the sidebar in the mp3 archive. They’ll be up for as long as I own the domain (forever?) so feel free to link to any of them.

Here’s the playlist. Have a great week and let me know if you have music for me to listen to in order to consider for the show. I’m always on the lookout.
