Cajsa Siik Wants to Surf

Feb 12, 2015 by

Cajsa Siik’s new single, Follow You Down, dropped this week. She was kind enough to answer 5.5 questions and do a live on-air interview with Justin & Claire. You may have heard Cajsa’s music in TV-series Criminal Minds, The Michael J Fox Show, Awkward, Degrassi and Ravenswood. Also, she’s about to head to Italy and the UK for a tour. Here’s what Cajsa had to say: What’s the first song you ever remember hearing? Oh, my first song. Must be something with The Beatles. My parents are huge fans. Tell us about the first time you heard yourself on radio. I was driving from Stockholm to my home town Umeå in the north of Sweden. It takes about 9 hours and there are just woods, wood. I was listening to Swedish radio p3 and then...

5.5 Questions with Above Water

Feb 5, 2015 by

James Vassallo of Above Water stopped by to hear the band’s new track and answer 5.5 Questions with TJWS. Here’s what he had to say: Tell us about the first time you heard yourself on radio. This is actually going to be the first time I’ve heard myself on the radio. Really excited for it! What sound do you love? Well, I’m a big Adult Alternative music kind of guy. I’ve grown up listening to a lot of John Mayer and Jason Mraz. I love John Mayer’s Stratocaster sound he gets on his guitar in his songs, especially the mellow tone in his album Continuum. I also love the laid back acoustic guitar sound in a lot of Jason’s songs. It always puts in me a good mood. As a musician, what’s the hardest...

5.5 Questions with Simon Hjortek of The Great Secret...

Jan 29, 2015 by

Simon Hjortek of The Great Secret says their new recording, Deep Inside The Lungs Of A Whale, “sounds like James Bond’s dirty dreams and glimpses of dreamy soundscapes”. Simon stopped by the JWS chat and while their song, Judy, rocked the airwaves twice, he answered 5.5 questions. Tell us about the first time you heard yourself on radio. The first time I heard myself was many years ago when premiering a track by my other band Red Nova. It was in Swedish radio, and I remember the feeling to be quite bizarre but of course only in a good way. I couldn’t help myself from start laughing when they played the tune, kind of thinking “Damn, we got that right!”. What sound do you love? I love so many sounds, and I think that can be heard on the...
