Another live podcast of Discovery 2 live performances finally released! You’ll hear live performances and interviews from Cold Fever who play a new style of reggae and alternative urban from J. Appiah and his band. We also have interviews and some album tracks from Swiss singer and multi-instrumentalist Heidi Happy, and alternative pop/folk/jazz artist Helene Greenwood.

Cold Fever

Producer/songwriter/rapper, Bhumeet Kala-Lee was fed on a musical diet of reggae, jazz and soul by his Jamaican father and Indian mother. His imagination was harnessed by hip-hop and UK grime, drawing the young radical to a fondness for storytelling through rhyming couplets. ‘Desi Reggae’ was born through fusing, mixing, and synergizing the tones of his musical influences.

He’s shared stages with Example, Wretch 32, Skepta, Lawson, The Wanted and Olly Murs. He has also collaborated with artists such as Beenie Man, Aswad, Freddie McGregor, The PropheC, and Jenna Garcia (songwriter for Britney Spears, Cassie, Ja-Rule and Lloyd) to name a few.

J.Appiah

Hailing from Hackney East London, J.Appiah is a fast-rising, urban alternative, singer/songwriter who is truly making an impact on the UK scene with his nonchalant musicality, understated intelligent lyricism and touching vocals.

Heidi Happy

Singer and multi-instrumentalist Heidi Happy stops over in London to release her latest album Golden Heart. She charms the crowd with her incredibly smooth and genuine voice, catchy melodies and lyrics which reach from upbeat to melancholic moods, and not least her winning personality. She has collaborated with Yello, Stephan Eicher and Scott Matthew, been in top 10 Swiss Album Charts, CMJ top 200 Charts) and performanced at (Paleo Gurten Festival, Heiteren Gampel, Festi’Neuch, Rock Oz Arenes (CH), Eurosonic Festival (NL), CMJ (USA), Reeperbahnfest, Popkomm (DE), Midem (FR), CMW, NXNE (CAN ), CMEA’s Tour 2013 (UK) to name a few). She pushes musical styles to their limits.

Helene Greenwood

Inspired by Ella Fitzgerald, as well contemporary artists like Björk, Lisa Hannigan, Jesca Hoop and Fiona Apple, Helene writes about every day life and human interaction. Her music is a mix of contemporary, alternative pop with shades of both folk and jazz .

Helene’s debut album Collectable You was awarded an incredible 4/5 star review from The Sunday Express’s – Martin Townsend. Describing Helene as a, “burst of freshness and vitality,” and, “one to watch.”
