Live: The Justin Wayne Show with Tim Atlas at Main Street Studios...

Aug 14, 2014 by

Tweet Back in January, we had a unique chance to introduce an artist to Walla Walla at Main Street Studios. Tim Atlas came to us for two nights and someone had the crazy idea of kicking off a live version of The Justin Wayne Show on the first night. With the help of Michael Simon of Coffee Ring Studios dealing with all of the sound both on stage and recording, Nate Redford of Lumenate Design taking care of the set, lights and promo pieces, and Tim Atlas bringing his A game, we had a great time. JW Show 245: Aces Up and Claire Takes the Helm...

Jul 16, 2014 by

Tweet Ty and Jason Adams from Aces Up were in at Main Street Studios for their gig, and also joined me for an interview and a live session to discuss their unique northwest blend of rock and country they’ve been playing for quite some time. They’re headed back in the studio soon, but Ty played one of the songs for us which will be on the upcoming album later this year. Also on this show apart from playing bunches of new independent music, Claire took over the helm and lead us on a great musical adventure. I think you’ll agree she did a wonderful job. Live Session: Brady Goss at Sinclair Estate Vineyards...

Jun 16, 2014 by

Tweet I had an excellent afternoon with Brady Goss talking about his hard-earned musical career and where he’ll be headed in the future. We stole some time at Sinclair Estate Vineyards in Walla Walla, Washington where they have a lovely grand piano which Brady rattles and shakes with the best of them. In this live interview and session you’ll also hear him play guitar, proving his development as a musician and an artist has just begun. Podcast: Play in new window | Download (Duration: 36:05 — 33.3MB)Subscribe: iTunes | Android | RSS More about Brady Goss Brady Goss has become something of a northwest institution across Oregon and Washington in the last few years. His signature piano man stylings akin to one of his biggest influences, Jerry Lee Lewis,  have brightened the stages of...

Live After Dinner: Pepper and Shepherd...

Jun 14, 2012 by

Tweet When you get James Pepper and Anthony Shepherd in the same room, you become part of something artistic and serious, yet fun and inclusive.  We got to experience this when these two, also known as Pepper and Shepherd, joined us for a Live After Dinner session live on the show.  I have personally known the band for nearly four years – since James had just joined Anthony’s solo act – and so I ask them loads of questions I’ve been meaning to over the years.  And they play tracks you can’t find on an album yet, although they do play stuff from their just-released full-length Wreck and Reel. It’s a great interview and live session with the boys playing five songs beautifully.  I’ve already started working on them to release these with us...

Live After Dinner: Calvin Roche and Josh Rigal...

May 25, 2012 by

Tweet Here are a couple of gents to keep your eye on, both Calvin Roche and Josh Rigal are making some quality noise in the London music scene and we were lucky enough to share a meal with them and hear them play for us live and play some first mixes from the upcoming record.  I was quite impressed with the quality of the recording here at Savoy Studios, but then I think we have the good music and talent of these guys to thank for that. Calvin is releasing his first album this summer so hit up their Facebook page so you can keep in touch and grab it up when it drops. Live Session: Juey

Oct 22, 2011 by

Tweet Juey, country artist from Cheltenham, stopped by on a Saturday to chat with us and play her guitar.  She was on her way down to record her vocals for The L Project, run by Georgie of the band Greymatter.  They’re recording a charity single with loads of the most talented lesbian musicians from around the UK, and of course Juey is part of that. Podcast: Play in new window | Download (Duration: 40:00 — 31.4MB)Subscribe: iTunes | Android | RSS Juey also played some tunes for us from her upcoming full-length album which should be released sometime next year and a few of our favourites off her current EP “Before the Devil Catches Me” which you can pick up yourself from her brand new website at iamjuey.com.   Thanks for listening,...

Live Session: David Goo

Oct 20, 2011 by

Tweet David Goo came up to the flat and gave us a good dose of his new album, “World Domination” by playing a few live tracks for us and spinning some tracks off the album.  I pried into his personal life, the reasoning behind a few of his songs, and a look into what it takes to form a DGVB tune from idea to the stage. Podcast: Play in new window | Download (Duration: 1:00:00 — 70.6MB)Subscribe: iTunes | Android | RSS An amazingly interesting man, Dave is also very humble and self-analytical – quite possibly the biggest critic of their music.  It shows in their extreme attention to detail and the fun they have once the tunes are crafted and ready.  Also it may explain why their album took so many years to...
