Cajsa Siik Wants to Surf

Feb 12, 2015 by

Cajsa Siik’s new single, Follow You Down, dropped this week. She was kind enough to answer 5.5 questions and do a live on-air interview with Justin & Claire.

You may have heard Cajsa’s music in TV-series Criminal Minds, The Michael J Fox Show, Awkward, Degrassi and Ravenswood.

Also, she’s about to head to Italy and the UK for a tour. Here’s what Cajsa had to say:

What’s the first song you ever remember hearing?

Oh, my first song. Must be something with The Beatles. My parents are huge fans.

Tell us about the first time you heard yourself on radio.

I was driving from Stockholm to my home town Umeå in the north of Sweden. It takes about 9 hours and there are just woods, wood. I was listening to Swedish radio p3 and then my song came on. So I pumped the gas. Strange feeling, but awesome. I’ll never forget it.

What sound or sounds do you love?

Depends on my mood. Everything from Bon Iver to Daft Punk, the National, Jeith Jarret. Bob Dylan, Patti Smith.. I’m a bit all over the pace when it comes to sounds. Right now I’m just in love with the Swedish band Amason.

What is something you still want to learn in life?

To behave. No, but I guess I learn new things every day. Every situation holds something new, but I’d really like to learn how to surf.

If your life was a novel, what would be the title and how would your story end?

This was a trippy ride. Then, I’d just disappear. I picture the end as a movie scene.

What’s your favorite kind of sandwich and what would you wash it down with?

Well it must be pumpernickel bread with pickled herring and swedish potatoes. A smokey whiskey

What one song never ever leaves your music player’s playlist?

Teardrop by Massive Attack (and many more=)
